For the third time in the past two months, ABC30 said goodbye to an on-air personality.
Tiffany Olin has left the station for a gig at KVVU-TV, the Fox affiliate in Las Vegas. She joins FOX5 as its weekday weather anchor and can be seen on its 1 and 2 p.m. newscasts.
“Three years at ABC30 flew by faster than I could’ve imagined,” Olin wrote in a message on social media. “Thank you Central CA for letting me share your news, weather and sports stories!”
Olin came to Fresno from Medford, Oregon, where she was a forecaster, multimedia journalist (doing news and sports) and digital producer. She continued filling multiple roles at ABC30, working as a weather anchor and sometimes reporter. In June, Olin was nominated for an Emmy for part in ABC30’s coverage of the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. It was one of two nominations she received during her time at the station.
Other departures at ABC30
Her departure comes on the heels of two others.
Gabe Ferris left his position as ABC30’s city hall reporter in mid-July to join sister news station ABC7 in Chicago, where he will be a general assignment reporter. Ferris began his career with ABC, as an intern at its Washington Bureau in 2022.
But his ambitions to be a reporter started at least a decade earlier, according to this feature from News Center Maine.
Stephen Hicks left the Fresno station in June after eight years. Most recently he had been the station’s sports director and anchor. Hicks moved to Southern California to be with his new wife (and fellow TV journalist) Hunter Sowards.
Sydney Berger has taken over as ABC30’s sports director.
