SAN DIEGO — The Coast Guard interdicted nine suspected aliens while conducting a boating safety patrol in Mission Bay Saturday.
At 3:45 p.m., a Coast Guard Station San Diego 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew identified a 22-foot Seaswirl vessel entering Mission Bay and conducted a boarding of the vessel.
During the boarding, nine suspected aliens were identified and detained.
The vessel was escorted to a lifeguard dock in Mission Bay and the nine individuals were transferred to U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Imperial Beach Border Patrol Station for further processing.
