A driver suspected of striking at least one cyclist was taken into custody after a pursuit led to a standoff in Marina del Rey on Sunday, officials said.
The initial incident happened at the Venice Pier just before 10 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. It’s unclear if any cyclists were hurt.
Police say the suspect then took off in their car, prompting a chase. During the pursuit, the driver ran into a couple LAPD vehicles, injuring at least one officer.
The chase ended in the area of Via Marina and Pacific Avenue, where the driver remained in the vehicle and was taken into custody before 10:30 p.m.
