The California Legislature is considering a bill to that would cut back private litigation against companies that engage in certain online tracking activities in a change that could have far-reaching consequences.
Senate Bill 690 would amend the California Invasion of Privacy Act to remove the private right of action to enforce the pen-register provisions of the nearly 60-year-old law.
