BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Family is searching for a 45-year-old man who says he went missing after taking his dog on a walk in south Bakersfield on July 22.

Family said Juan Jose Diaz, or nickname Joey, was last seen on July 22, 2026, after taking his dog, a Belgian Malinois, on a walk near Foods Co on White Lane and South H Street.

Diaz is described as 5’6” tall, 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

He was wearing black shorts, a dark shirt, and black shoes.

Family said he has not returned home.
