A 33-year-old agricultural worker was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant in Fresno County. Jorge A. Lopez was booked at 12:15 p.m. on July 31 by the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office. According to booking records, Lopez is being held on a $250,000 bail for the felony warrant charge.

Woman arrested following hit-and-run, child abuse allegations
A 29-year-old local woman was arrested on multiple offenses, including child abuse and hit-and-run driving. Eva Marie Sabala, 29, was taken into custody at the intersection of North Ninth Street and B Street by officers with the Brawley Police Department. According to booking records, Sabala was booked around 5:04 a.m. on Aug. 2 on suspicion of child abuse likely to cause great bodily injury or death, driving under the influence of alcohol, and hit-and-run resulting in property damage. Her total bail was set at $35,000.
Caretaker arrested on felony domestic violence allegation
A 45-year-old woman faces a felony charge, the sheriff’s blotter report shows. Darlene Berber, who works as a caretaker, was arrested by Brawley Police Department officers. She was booked into county jail at 2 p.m. Saturday for inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant. Berber is being held on a $50,000 bail bond.
20-year-old man arrested on child abuse and reckless driving offenses

A 53-year-old man was arrested by El Centro Police officers after allegedly fleeing from law enforcement. Mingxing Huang was arrested on westbound Interstate 8 near Dogwood Road. Huang was booked at 11:33 a.m. on Aug. 2 on charges of fleeing or evading a pursuing peace officer. Bail was set at $5,000.
High-speed pursuit and drug allegations lead to arrest
A 47-year-old man faces multiple drug and evasion charges after being arrested by Imperial County Sheriff’s deputies, sheriff’s records show. Richard Gutierrez was taken into custody near the intersection of La Brucherie Road and Ross Road. Gutierrez was booked at 3:29 p.m. on Aug. 2 on charges including possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, fleeing a peace officer, and evading a peace officer with a willful disregard for safety. His bail was set at $10,000.
Man faces weapon, narcotics offenses
Police arrested a 29-year-old man after officers allegedly found him carrying a concealed blade and illegal substances. The sheriff’s blotter report indicates that Gabriel Villanueva Matus was arrested by El Centro Police Department officers on the 400 block of West State Street. Matus was booked at 6:42 p.m. on Aug. 1 on three separate misdemeanor allegations: carrying a concealed dirk or dagger, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a narcotic controlled substance. His total bail is set at $15,000 ($5,000 for each charge).

A 50-year-old caretaker was arrested on allegations related to elder or dependent adult abuse. Javier Cano was taken into custody in the 2300 block of Andrade Avenue by Calexico Police Department officers. According to the blotter report, Cano was booked at 4:17 p.m. on Aug. 2 on suspicion of causing injury or endangerment to an elder or dependent adult. Bail was set at $25,000.

A 43-year-old individual was arrested following an alleged domestic incident, sheriff’s records indicate. Andres Fierro was taken into custody by the Calexico Police Department on CN Perry Avenue. Fierro was booked into county jail at 3:53 a.m. on Aug. 1 on a misdemeanor allegation of battery on a spouse, ex-spouse, or dating partner. Bail has been set at $5,000.
Teenager arrested for trespassing at property
A 19-year-old man was taken into custody after refusing to leave a local property. Sheriff’s records indicate that Jason Yhael Bosques was arrested by Calexico Police Department officers in the 800 block of W. He was booked into the Imperial County Sheriff’s facility at 11:23 p.m. on Aug. 1 on a fugitive warrant originating from another jurisdiction. Bail for Montes has been set at $15,000.
18-year-old student arrested on vandalism allegation
Calexico Police arrested an 18-year-old student in connection with a felony vandalism incident. Brisa Giselle Ramirez was booked into custody at 8:00 p.m. on July 31 after her arrest along Heffernan Avenue in Calexico. According to the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office booking log, Ramirez was charged with felony vandalism causing damage of $400 or more. Her bail has been set at $10,000.

State police arrested a 27-year-old man along Interstate 8 on an active out-of-county warrant, sheriff’s records show. Leonardo Govany Segovia was arrested by the California Highway Patrol near Interstate 8 eastbound and West Winterhaven Drive. Segovia, who is currently unemployed, was booked into county jail at approximately 5:13 a.m. on July 31 on an outstanding out-of-county warrant. His bail has been set at $35,000, according to the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office booking log.
Caretaker arrested in drug bust
A 47-year-old woman was arrested on multiple felony drug trafficking and possession offenses, according to sheriff’s records. Azelia Trejo was booked by the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office at 12:57 p.m. on July 31 following an incident near West Winterhaven Drive and Picacho Road. Trejo, whose occupation is listed as a caretaker, faces five narcotics-related counts, including possession and transportation of controlled substances and narcotics for sale, as well as possessing controlled substances with prior convictions. She is currently being held in custody.
