IMPACT DAY TUESDAY

Heat lingers to mark the 4th day in our heat wave on Tuesday. High temperatures around the region will come down slightly.

Valley: 99-104

Foothills: 96-100

Sierra: 88-92

HAZY SKIES

A thin layer of wildfire smoke and some ground level ozone builds around the region Tuesday.

Air quality is likely to moderate between moderate to unhealthy for sensitive groups.

Thicker smoke is expected around the Gann Fire burning in Calaveras County. Smoke could shift around the Highway 49 corridor late day.

Truckee and Tahoe may see some hazy skies by the evening as wildfire smoke from the Pacific NW inches towards Tahoe.

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY

Air quality is likely to improve around the region. Temperatures will continue to come down as the onshore flow increases.

Heat returns with highs back to 100 + degrees by Friday & Saturday.
