Families across Bakersfield will have a chance to meet the officers who patrol their neighborhoods and learn more about crime prevention during National Night Out, an annual free event designed to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve Tuesday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Yokuts Park.
The Bakersfield Police Department is inviting residents to take part as neighborhoods throughout the city host gatherings with officers, emergency vehicles, community resources and family-friendly activities. Police say the event gives residents an opportunity to ask questions, connect with neighbors and learn ways to help prevent crime.
National Night Out is held nationwide each year to encourage neighbors to get to know one another and work together to help keep their communities safe.
