BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The City of Shafter will be hosting the grand opening and ribbon cutting for the new aquatics facility on Saturday.
Following the ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 8, the community is invited to swim for free in the new pool from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The ribbon cutting will be held at 9 a.m.
The City said that family and friends are welcome to attend the event, organizers said.
It will be held at the Shafter Aquatics Center, located at 269 Poso Ave.
Organizers are asking the public to refrain from brining outside food and beverages into the event but refillable water bottles are welcome.
