The Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series for the second time in as many seasons, but there is no reason to believe the team will not continue being aggressive in the offseason.

The Dodgers won the 2024 World Series and responded by signing Blake Snell, Tanner Scott and Rōki Sasaki. The team kept acquiring star players, and this offseason may not be different. The team does not have many holes, but they could use another outfielder.

Michael Conforto was not the player the Dodgers had hoped for when they signed him. Teoscar Hernández is not a great defender, but he has one of the outfield spots essentially locked up. Andy Pages had a solid regular season but struggled in the postseason. He still projects to be a starter next season, however.

The third outfield spot is where things get interesting. Tommy Edman’s injuries played a role in his staying mostly in the infield. He is an option in the outfield, opening the door for Hyeseong Kim to see more playing time. However, if the Dodgers wish to look externally, Bleacher Report’s Zachary D. Rymer tabbed them as a fit for Washington Nationals star James Wood.

Wood was an All-Star last year and is one of the bright young stars in baseball. He slashed .256/.350/.475 and hit 31 home runs. In the first half, he hit .278 with a .915 OPS, so a poor second half hurt his overall numbers. Earlier this year, ESPN’s Jeff Passan projected Wood to sign a $300 million deal down the line.

He is under club control through 2030, and could join the Dodgers’ quest to become a dominant dynasty. He could be a staple of their outfield for years to come. The Nationals may be rebooting their rebuild, and Wood could yield a massive haul.
