Temperatures in Sacramento are expected to remain high and near the triple-digits throughout the weekend. Although many people will seek relief in the air conditioning, we’ve compiled a list of local spots where you can find water misters and a little bit of a cool down while outdoors.

If you’re willing to make the drive, several regional wineries have water misters for their outdoor seating.

Other places to find water misters
The Sacramento Zoo has water misting stations and several shaded areas, but is still recommend going earlier in the morning when temperatures are cooler and the animals are more active.
Fairytale Town has misters set-up for the summer heat, alongside the air-conditioned Story Center. Additionally, until Aug. 31 admission is free whenever temperatures reach 95 degrees.
The Sacramento Bee has a list of local spray parks and splash pads, plus rules for properly enjoying them.
Staying safe
Even with the relief of water misters, the heat stroke remains a risk in high temperatures. Health officials advise drinking plenty of water and using sun protection, including hats and sunscreen,
Heatstroke symptoms include nausea, headaches, muscle cramping, flushed skin, rapid breathing and heart rate, high body temperatures and changes in mental states or behavior.
People should immediately call 911 and move indoors or to shaded areas if they feel the onset of heatstroke symptoms.
