OAKLAND — Police are seeking a man who broke into an East Oakland home last month, physically assaulted a resident and fled with numerous items.
To help identify the suspect, police have released some video images of him.
The break-in happened just before 9 a.m. July 20 in the 1900 block of Harrington Avenue near the Fruitvale district.
Police said the suspect broke into the home, physically assaulted a resident and fled with several items. The resident did not require any medical treatment and police have not said what exactly was taken.
The suspect is described as Black, age 20 to 30, about 6 feet tall with yellow eyes, a beard and facial acne or razor bumps. He was last seen wearing a black Nike hoodie with black Nike lettering, and black Air Force 1 sneakers. He also reportedly had a strong odor of alcohol and cigarettes, police said.
The man was last seen running into Cesar Chavez Park, 1835 38th Avenue. Police have determined the man is known to frequent that area.
