Don’t have an Outside Lands wristband? Only catching Charli XCX’s Friday-night headlining set? San Francisco will be buzzing with arts and entertainment events this weekend, festival-related and otherwise.
Without having to worry about your favorite artists playing at the same time or spending hours waiting for a ride home, you can pack your weekend with shows, shopping, and parties. And with a big chunk of San Franciscans in Golden Gate Park, there’s no better time to snag a table or skip the line at the buzziest spots.

Friday, Aug. 7

6 p.m. Opening celebration for “GaHee Park: Behind the Curtain” (opens in new tab)
After work, decompress with a first look at YBCA’s newest exhibition, featuring the dreamy paintings of GaHee Park. Enjoy the museum after dark, get a chance to mingle with the artist and curator, sip cocktails, and kick off your weekend with a shot of inspiration.
7:30 p.m. Dinner at Jilli
Hop on the 14 or 12 bus to the Mission for dinner at Jilli, a Korean-style eatery where the food is rich and the makgeolli rice wine is always flowing. Your evening will be marked by nonstop dancing, so fuel up!
10 p.m. Charli XCX-themed after-parties in the Mission and SoMa

1 p.m. Filipino bites and dancing at Pistahan Festival (opens in new tab)
After a morning in Bernal, head north to satisfy your cravings for adobo and immerse yourself in Filipino culture at the 33rd annual Pistahan Festival in Yerba Buena Gardens. Catch music and dance performances, eat ube ice cream, and delight in family-friendly fun.
9:30 p.m. Outside Lands night show with Sports (opens in new tab)
The next best thing to a wristband is a ticket to one of the sought-after night shows featuring acts from the festival. Indie duo Sports will play hits from their 10-year discography at the intimate venue Rickshaw Stop in Hayes Valley.

9 a.m. Croissants at Parachute Bakery
Parachute Bakery will be dishing up their famous croissants at the festival for the first time, meaning this weekend is your chance to experience a shorter-than-usual line at the flagship Ferry Building location.
11 a.m. Pickwick Vintage Show (opens in new tab)
Once you’ve gobbled up your baked goods at the Ferry Building, peruse highly curated wares at the monthly Pickwick Vintage Show. It’s not too early to look out for Portola Festival, Hardly Strictly, and Burning Man attire.
3:45 p.m. Inside Lands, (opens in new tab) aka the Outside Lands livestream
If you don’t have the budget, time, or stamina for OSL, have your friends over, stir up some themed cocktails, and keep the party inside with Prime Video’s continuous feed of Sunday’s acts, including Rüfüs du Sol, Death Cab for Cutie, Baby Keem, and Empire of the Sun.
