Aggressive dogs prompt partial closure on bike path near Chester Avenue Bridge

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A portion of the Kern River Parkway Trail has been temporarily closed due to possible aggressive dogs in the area, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

At around 5 p.m. Aug. 6, the Bakersfield Animal Control Unit received reports of several aggressive dogs along the bike path near the Chester Avenue Bridge, officials said.

Six dogs were safely contained and transported to the Bakersfield Animal Care Center, according to BPD.

More aggressive dogs could still be in the area. A portion of the bike path will stay closed to the public while officials try to capture the remaining dogs.
