California lawmakers back from their summer recess have until Aug. 31 to pass a list of pending legislation that includes at least 30 bills addressing the use of artificial intelligence.
Legislators there have so far passed at least one AI bill, which ensures that public school employees including teachers, nurses and psychologists are humans. It’s one of dozens of AI laws enacted across more than half the states so far this year.
