Fiesta Days returns to Frazier Mountain Park for its 58th annual celebration, bringing three days of games, competition and live entertainment under the theme “Small Town America.” One of the biggest draws: Admission is free.
The event is designed to be kid-friendly, while adults also jump in for competitive games, including log-sawing competitions known as lumberjack matches. Justin Jones, who won the log-sawing event twice more than a decade ago, said winners take home “a trophy. Mostly just bragging rights.”
Tug-of-war is also part of the lineup, along with multiple events each day. Organizers also planned a parade for Saturday morning.
Ellen Keowencox, a longtime volunteer, said the event has a way of reconnecting residents. “I love how it brings the entire community together. It’s almost like a reunion,” she said.
For Keowencox, the highlight is seeing children enjoy the activities. “Really for me it’s watching the delight on the children’s faces. As they get to participate in all the activities and games,” she said.
One of the featured attractions at Fiesta Days is live music.
