The fire quickly grew to five acres within minutes and was threatening structures in the area.
Cal Fire crews were responding to a brush fire that sparked along a road in Jamul Friday and was threatening structures.
The brush fire ignited around 2:30 p.m. along Skyline Truck Trail and quickly sent a dark plume of smoke over the area, ALERTCalifornia/UC San Diego cameras showed. In less than an hour, the fire grew to 20 acres and prompted evacuations.
Evacuations were ordered for zones SDC-2102 & SDC-2158 and warnings were given for aones SDC-2020, SDC-2104, & SDC-216. People in the area of an order, colored in red below, should leave immediately. An evacuation shelter has been established at Regal Cinemas on Rancho San Diego.
It was unclear if there were any evacuations.
