UKIAH, Calif. — A small plane crash-landed in a Ukiah neighborhood Friday morning, bringing down power lines and knocking out electricity to nearby residents. No injuries were reported, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash happened near North Main Street and East Smith Street. At 12:18 p.m., CHP said its officers and Ukiah police were at the scene and asked the public to avoid the area while emergency crews worked.
At 12:39 p.m., City of Ukiah officials said power was restored. They also said there was no significant property damage. “What a remarkable landing by this pilot!” the city said on its social media.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the plane crashed around 10:50 a.m. with two people on board. The FAA identified the aircraft as a PSL-104 and said it will investigate the crash.
