A brush fire forced evacuation orders and warnings near Santa Clarita on Saturday, officials said.
The Tasha Fire broke out near Sierra Highway and the Newhall Pass just before 6 p.m. So far, it has scorched around 10 acres, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Aerial footage from NewsChopper4 showed ground crews fighting the fire on steep terrain as aircrafts dropped red flame retardant.
Authorities issued an evacuation order for areas near Eternal Valley and Calgrove. The surrounding areas were under an evacuation warning.
The fire department, alongside the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, are investigating the cause of the fire.
Deputies were searching for a car believed to have been in the immediate area when the fire sparked.
