A woman is battling severe injuries after being hit by a car driven by two young brothers, aged 4 and 6, in Oakland, California reports say.
OAKLAND, Calif. — A California woman and two young boys are in the hospital after being hit by brothers who took their parent’s car, reports say.
The woman, identified by family as Kiara Bowling, was hit by two brothers, ages 4 and 6 years old, in Oakland, California, according to ABC7 Bay Area.
The two boys are in the hospital, the 4-year-old with a concussion and the 6-year-old with two broken legs, their uncle told the outlet.
Bowling has a “lifelong recovery” ahead, a fundraiser set up by the family said.
“She’s currently still fighting extremely hard for her life,” her sister, Christina Blackmon, told KTVU. “She is currently suffering from multiple brain bleeds and facial fractures. We’re just hoping for a true speedy recovery.”
Reports say Bowling was hit Thursday morning while walking a friend’s dog in East Oakland. A white sedan, driven by the brothers, sideswiped another car and sent the sedan into Bowling.
The dog she was walking, named Grizzly, was hurt and ran off, but later was found and taken to the veterinarian for help.
Gwendoline Bowling, Kiara Bowling’s aunt, described her niece to KRON as “the angel God put on Earth to walk around.”
The family told media outlets Bowling was recently picked as Miss California Regency International 2026.
The fundraiser — which has reached over $66,000 of its $90,000 goal as of Sunday, Aug. 9 — will help her “through the challenges that follow such a traumatic event,” and to “make sure support is there during this painful and uncertain time,” the summary said.
