BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Inovia Pharmacy was broken into for the second time in three weeks in Bakersfield.
Yesser Haykal, a pharmacist at Inovia Pharmacy, said the first incident happened when the suspected burglar went through the door and a gate.
During the second incident, the alleged suspect first broke through the neighboring business and then two walls to reach the pharmacy.
An alarm went off, and the alleged suspect left the building with products. Haykal said controlled substances are likely the target.
Surveillance video shows a person making a hole and going into the business. The person is then seen crawling on the floor.
“I mean it’s frustrating, but we never get discouraged; we are here for a reason, we are here to stay. And it’s even more encouraging when we get all the incredible support we got from the neighborhood,” said Yasser Haykal, the pharmacy manager.
