REDDING, Calif. — A new bus service started Monday connecting Shasta County to Sacramento.
Amtrak partnered with the Redding Area Bus Authority (RABA) to launch a brand-new bus service, the Gold Runner Route 5, servicing passengers between Redding and Sacramento.
The bus will run twice a day, daily. The first ride departs at 9:00 a.m. and the second at 1:40 p.m.
Passengers can buy tickets ahead of time on the Amtrak or Gold Runner website, or in-person at designated transit centers for $23 per one-way ticket.
The new transit makes stops in Redding, Red Bluff, Orland, Williams, Sacramento International Airport and Sacramento Valley Station.
Buses depart Sacramento to head back north at 1:15 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.
It is recommended that passengers taking the new bus arrive at the station early and check in with staff for track details.
A ribbon-cutting celebrating the new bus service line is scheduled for August 24 at 8:15 a.m. at the Bus Depot in downtown Redding.
