Buena Park’s Silverado Days kicks off Oct. 17 at William Peak Park, with carnival rides and a night of entertainment.
The fun continues throughout the weekend with community contests, a car show, lots of shopping and things to eat and daily drawings.
The event, now in its 69th year, is organized by the Buena Park Noon Lions Club as a fundraiser for local charities.
Some of the highlights this weekend include a professional horseshow contest at 10 a.m. on Oct. 18 and later in the day pie eating, baby and hula hoop contests. The Buena Park Youth Theater will perform at 1:30 p.m. and the Buena Park High School Band at 4:45 p.m.
On Oct. 19, a pancake breakfast kicks things off at 8 a.m. and at 9 a.m. the car show opens. There will also be a dog adoption event, a dog show and more.
Entertainment headliners include Mariachi Mexico Lindo LA at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 17; Radio Royalty at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 18; and Raymond Michael at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 19.
The carnival is open all weekend.
