Cookie fans can become charmingly competitive when it comes to representing their go-to goodie, and showing love-filled loyalty to a specific company, even a company that first grew far across the country, can be viewed as an act of delicious devotion.
Levain Bakery lovers have shown that devotion, touting the famous treat’s hefty six-ounce presence, toothsome character, and quality ingredients.
Founded in New York City over three decades ago, the decadent confection has made its way to other states, including Maryland, Florida, and a trio of Southern California locations (hello, Beverly Hills, Larchmont Village, and Venice).
Now a fourth Golden State spot is joining the luscious line-up: Fashion Island in Newport Beach will welcome the next Levain Bakery, starting in September. And you won’t have to wait for too long: The earlier part of the month is when the dessert-y destination is expected to make its OC hello.
“We have always felt that Levain brings people together, and our LA Bakeries have shown us that Southern California agrees,” commented co-founders and best friends Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald.
“Levain in Newport Beach feels like the next natural step,” the pair shared, adding “… we can’t wait to open our doors at Fashion Island.”
The bakery’s signature breads are also big draws for longtime regulars, as are non-cookie pastries.
In fact, artisanal breads were some of the first offerings that fans began to return to the first NYC location for, before cookies made Levain Bakery a major name in the space of stand-out sweets.
On the cookie side of the appetizing equation, though, the choices are tempting and plentiful: Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip Walnut, and non-chocolate-y choices are on the mmm-menu.
One quality of a Levain Bakery cookie that sets it apart? It’s a cookie that presents a mouthwatering cross-section when broken in half.
