The City of Sacramento and the Italian Cultural Society unveiled banners and street sign toppers that are being installed throughout East Sacramento, Sacramento’s official “Little Italy” neighborhood. In 2021, city leaders designated the area between 48th Street, 59th Street, J Street, and Folsom Boulevard as “Little Italy,” in honor of Italian Americans and their century-long history in the neighborhood since the Gold Rush. The signs and banners are being installed throughout the neighborhood, which still is the home to many Italian-American families and businesses including Corti Brothers, Frank’s Automotive, Tallini Nursery, and the “Italian Corners” plaza.
