BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A new nonstop option is taking off at Meadows Field Airport, giving Bakersfield travelers a direct connection to Los Angeles.
Meadows Field welcomed the first flight into Bakersfield from LAX on Tuesday morning. Starting today, United Airlines is offering flights to and from Los Angeles.
The flight takes about an hour, and round-trip tickets cost roughly $300.
Meadows Field Airport announced the nonstop option back in May.
Meadows Field officials stated at the time of the announcement, “This is an exciting step forward for our community. Each new route expands access, supports local businesses, and strengthens our region’s economic vitality. We’re proud to partner with both United Airlines and American Airlines in delivering these essential connections.”
United already serves two other routes from Meadows Field: San Francisco and Denver.
