Roads closed after big rig lithium battery fire in south Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Road closures are in place after a big rig containing lithium batteries was on fire in south Sacramento, according to officials.
Crews responded before 8 p.m. at the 3510 block of Kiessig Avenue near the Lemon Hill neighborhood. The Sacramento Fire Department said the fire prompted a hazardous response.
The fire has since been knocked down, but road closures are still in effect at 47th Avenue westbound at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and 47th Avenue at eastbound 27th Street.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
