Police in Santa Ana are searching for the driver who struck a man on an e-bike and then took off.
The hit-and-run was reported at 10:18 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Raitt Street and Warner Avenue, according to the Santa Ana Police Department. Surveillance footage from the scene showed a man traveling on an e-bike, crossing the street on a marked crosswalk and then a vehicle rushing by, striking the man then continuing on.
Police said the victim was found on the ground with an injury to his lower body. As a result, he was taken to a nearby hospital. The victim’s injury is described as non-life-threatening.
The driver remains on the loose. A detailed description of the vehicle that struck the man was not immediately available.
