BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Kern County Employers Training Resource is sharing local job opportunities and services available for job seekers.

Paredes says information sessions are being held for Transformative Climate Communities.
The program offers on-the-job and vocation training for applicants living in certain areas of Kern County.
The information sessions will be held on August 20 and 27 from 9a.m. to 11 a.m. at America’s Job Center on Belle Terrace.
There is also an upcoming information session for displaced oil and gas workers.
The session is also taking place at America’s Job Center on August 24 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Paredes also shared information on local job opportunities.
Cazador Staffing is hosting a hiring event for positions available during the Kern County Fair.
The event will be taking place on September 2 at the ETR Recruitment Center on Olive Drive.
The company will be hiring barbacks and supervisors.
All positions will be part time and temporary.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is also hiring medical transcriptionists.
Minimum qualifications for the position include completion of a medical terminology course, 2 years of experience transcribing in a medical setting, and a certified typing speed of 45 words per minute.
