Man convicted of Sacramento County robbery while wearing GPS ankle monitor
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. —
A Sacramento County jury has convicted a man of three counts of robbery committed between September and October 2024.
In the first case, Sandra Alvina Martinez robbed a 7-Eleven on Watt Avenue while wearing a GPS ankle monitor that showed him at the crime scene, the District Attorney’s Office said.
He was found the next day in the same suspect vehicle with the same mask, T-shirt and gloves that were used in the robbery, prosecutors said.
The second robbery was at a donut shop on Del Paso Boulevard. He returned to rob the same shop the next day and was accused of pointing a firearm at the victim.
Martinez also had two prior strike convictions for carjacking, the DA’s office said. He faces a maximum sentence of 85 years to life in prison when he is sentenced on Oct. 30.
