As Yamaha Motor Corporation U.S.A prepares to relocate operations from Cypress to Georgia, the company’s finance division will permanently close its 278,964-square-foot manufacturing facility on Katella Avenue in October.

61 people will be affected with approximately 58 people to be laid off on Oct. 1 and the remaining three to depart in January 2027, according to workforce filings.

Only employees of Yamaha Motor Finance Corporation (YMFC) are impacted for now, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) letter sent to state employment officials.

Yamaha Motor Corp. said in March it would begin relocating at the end of 2026 and plans to sell the entire 25-acre office campus in Cypress, which staffs about 200 to 250 employees in accounting, corporate planning and Yamaha’s financial services business.
