2 injured from Bug Fire, flown to UC Davis Burn Center
SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Two people are hospitalized at UC Davis Burn Center after they were injured from the Bug Fire, which is burning along the California and Nevada state line, according to officials.
The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office said two people sustained burn injuries and initially received medical care from firefighters and paramedics assigned to the Bug Fire. They were then flown to the hospital in Sacramento, the sheriff’s office said Thursday.
Identities of the people injured were not released.
The sheriff’s office said circumstances surrounding the injuries remain preliminary and authorities are working to gather more information.
“The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office extends its appreciation to the firefighters, paramedics, Care Flight personnel, and all first responders involved in providing rapid medical care and coordinating the transport of the injured individuals.”
The Bug Fire has burned thousands of acres across the California and Nevada border. On Wednesday, evacuation warnings were issued in Plumas County while evacuation warnings and orders were placed in Lassen County.
On Thursday, evacuation warnings were lifted in Plumas County. Some evacuation orders were downgraded to warnings in Lassen County while some orders remain in place.

The fire started on Aug. 8, east of Highway 395 and south of Bringman Road in Lassen County. The fire has since burned 88,442 acres and 10,718 of those acres have burned in California.
Officials said Monday that the fire is believed to be human-caused.
