Los Angeles might not be known for its Metro lines, but it has definitely made a name for itself when it comes to food. As the city works on building up its public transportation system so that everyone can get where they need to go without a car, you have to wait, so why not enjoy food near the Metro stations? But with 110 stations, which ones actually have the best food? Here are four Metro stations with the best food and the most options nearby.
Wilshire/Western Station
Though the Wilshire/Vermont and Normandie/Wilshire stations are notable mentions also in Koreatown, Wilshire/Western is really at the center of all the best Korean food. Close by, there’s Chunju Han-il Kwan’s large, family-style bowls of stew and famous budae jjigae, or Young Dong Restaurant, which has renowned Korean seafood or pork dumpling tofu soup. Plus, Beer Belly is ideal if you’re looking for comfort foods with a twist, like duck fries, the Beer Belly grilled cheese or pork cheek chili cheeseburgers. Aside from what’s been mentioned, you don’t have to walk too far to find tasty Korean fried chicken, the crispest smashburgers, and nearby plazas with quick bites and treats on your way to work.
Hollywood/Vine Station
If you’re in the mood to try food that is more upscale and trendier, the Hollywood/Vine station has you covered. You’re never more than a few steps away from a nice place to eat, and you can save yourself the trouble of trying to find parking. Mama Shelter not only has mouthwatering food, but also colorful decor, groovy music, refreshing cocktails, and a rooftop deck with amazing views of Downtown L.A. and the Pacific Ocean. Elbow Room has cheesy pizza and craft beer for you to relax since you don’t have to worry about refilling the parking meter. Then there’s coffee at Float Hollywood, casual vibes at Running Goose, Chicken Guy! and all of Hollywood’s best.
Downtown Santa Monica Station
There is such a variety of food near the Downtown Santa Monica station that is only a few steps away. The Third Street Promenade and Santa Monica Place offer endless options as well as local favorites. They have delicious deli sandwiches at Wexler’s Deli, which has some of the best Jewish deli foods outside of New York City, with hand-crafted pastrami, smoked salmon, bagels and a wide range of sandwiches to choose from. For more legendary sandwiches, there’s Bay Cities Italian Deli & Bakery, or if you’re in the mood for fresh seafood, there’s Water Grill or seasonal, fancy California plates at Tar & Roses. Almost anywhere you choose surrounding the station is guaranteed to be a memorable meal.

Little Tokyo/Arts District Station
There are so many food options that surround the Little Tokyo/Arts District Station. From, of course, all the great Japanese food of Little Tokyo to the chic restaurants of the Arts District, there are almost too many choices. There’s T.O.T., or Teishokuya of Tokyo, which serves traditional Japanese cuisine, including tempura, udon and soba noodles, sushi and grilled fish and Fugetsu-do’s beautiful mochi and daifuku for you to end your journey with a sweet treat. On the more Arts District side, Wurstküche has sausages and Belgian fries, and Prince Street Pizza has New York-style heavy-hitting slices. You can never go wrong with Japanese food or anything from the Arts District.
Some other honorable mentions are the Chinatown, Highland Park, Sierra Madre Villa, Westlake McArthur Park and Del Mar stations that have plenty of great food, but just mean you have to walk more.
