While it’s still early in the season, the winner of tonight’s showdown between the Queens (3-2) and Firebells (3-2) will become the first league four-game winner and immediately move to the top of the WPBL standings.

Tonight’s game marks the fourth straight contest between the California squads. San Francisco has won two of the three games, including Wednesday’s matchup 8-2. In that game, WPBL No. 1 draft pick Kelsie Whitmore hit three home runs and drove in six of the team’s eight runs.

The Queens jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Wednesday night after Maggie Fox hit an RBI single and Jamie Mackay plated Fox on a double. Three Firebell pitchers combined to pitch six scoreless innings after the opening frame.

After starting the season 3-0, Los Angeles will now look to snap its two-game losing streak.

First Pitch: 5:30 p.m. MDT
