The Princess Diaries 3
ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA – AUGUST 14: Anne Hathaway speaks onstage at the Disney Entertainment Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event on August 14, 2026 in Anaheim, California. (Photo by George Bate)
Arguably no actress on the planet is as prolific this year as Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway. To date, Hathaway has starred in Mother Mary, The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey, and The End of Oak Street. And that’s not all. She still has Verity, the adaptation of the hit Colleen Hoover novel to come.
But between filming and subsequently promoting seemingly endless numbers of projects, Hathaway took the time to visit the Honda Center to discuss and present world exclusive first footage from The Princess Diaries 3 (before she is named as a Disney Legend this Sunday).
The Princess Diaries 3 will hit theaters over 23 years after The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement and at least 27 years after the original film. But, in all those years, fans have not stop clamoring for the next step in Queen Mia’s journey.
Hathaway explained that the sequel has taken so long to make as she and the creative team are “working hard” to give the character and this story justice.
The Princess Diaries 3 does not currently have a release date.
The New Simpsons Movie

The first movie showcased during the presentation was the sequel to 2007’s The Simpsons Movie, which has officially received the title: The Next Simpsons Movie.
Dana Walden, President and Chief Creative Office of the Walt Disney Company, was on stage to present a world exclusive first look at the movie.
In the footage, Homer is shown cheering at a baseball game, chanting, “Make Homer rich!” The ball is hit into the stands and leads to a mad frenzy of everyone in Springfield, including Homer, trying to claim it. The ball somehow goes through the stands, through the bathroom, through the media boxes, to outside the stadium and into Main Street. It ends up in a pickle jar at the bar, then into a bowling alley, doctor’s office, Duff Beer factory, and a massive vat of beer. Homer blasts off from the beer lands back into the stadium, where the ball lands right at Bart’s feet. Homer screams, “Doh!” as the footage wraps up.
The Next Simpsons Movie is in theaters September 3, 2027.

Pixar then took over the presentation to showcase some of their upcoming titles, beginning with the third installment in the critically acclaimed The Incredibles franchise.
The Incredibles III will see the return of Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack. The presentation confirmed that there will not be a time-jump in the film as the kids remain the same age.
During the presentation, it was revealed that Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack will serve as the lead characters in the film and the story will involve them sneaking out of the house at night to protect the city.
Bob, meanwhile, grapples with his relevance in a world in which superheroes are now legal.
The main villain of the film is an unnamed villainous superhero.
After The Incredibles and The Incredibles II were written and directed by Brad Bird, the filmmaker behind the long-awaited Ray-Gunn hands directing duties over to Peter Sohn (The Good Dinosaur, Elemental).
The Incredibles III is in theaters June 18, 2028.

One of Pixar’s best original films in years will receive a sequel in 2029. Benjamin Bratt was at D23 to discuss Coco 2, the sequel to the hit 2017 movie.
The original Coco followed Miguel, a 12-year-old Mexican boy with dreams of becoming a musician, despite his family’s strict, generations-old ban on music. When he is accidentally transported to the colorful Land of the Dead during the Day of the Day, Miguel seeks out his musical idol, Ernesto de la Cruz, to return home.
“He’s a little menace who ruined a career and destroyed a legend,” said Bratt, “Ernesto de la Cruz is back for revenge…proving that fate has twists.”
Bratt voiced de la Cruz, the charming musician ultimately revealed to be the film’s antagonist, in the 2017 movie and will reprise his role in the upcoming sequel.
Bratt confirmed that Coco 2 will “push Miguel to his limits,” but that he “will be aided by his beloved ancestors.”
An image from the film revealed that Miguel is now a teenager.

The series also stars Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Mykal-Michelle Harris, Ryder Allen, and Amy Sedaris.

“We only used hand drawn 2D animation,” said Favreau. He confirms they brought a lot of 2D animators back who haven’t worked at Disney for a while.
Favreau confirmed that Oswald is a three-part mini-series.

Star Wars: Starfighter

Aligned with the 50th anniversary of Star Wars next year, Lucasfilm and Disney will release Star Wars: Starfighter next year.
Star Ryan Gosling and director Shawn Levy, who were recently announced to be collaborating again on a Ghost Rider movie, came on stage as they revealed new details about their Star Wars movie and presented the world exclusive first look at the film.
Levy revealed that Ryan Gosling’s character is named Kade Auberon. “Kade is a guy from the wrong side of the galaxy whose fate is intertwined with the fastest starfighter ever built,” Levy described.
Ryan Gosling was welcomed on stage to a montage of his time on Disney Channel’s The All-New Mickey Mouse Club from the mid-1990s. He walked out wearing a Mickey Mouse jacket, although Levy soon after gave Gosling a replacement. The back of the jacket features what Levy described as Kade’s symbol, which appears at first glance to look like the iconic symbol of The Punisher. But if one looks closely, Kade’s symbol is the symbol of the Rebel Alliance turned upside down.
“I owe a lot to Disney,” Gosling said. “Had they not looked far and wide and come to my hometown, I would not be here today. And now here I am 30 years later… I’m back and it’s changing my life again.”
“I am so honored to release this film on the same weekend that the original film opened 50 years earlier,” Levy said.
In discussing the movie’s themes, Levy remarked, “Starfighter embodies the themes of hope, family and adventure that have always been core to Star Wars, but our story takes place in a period of time that has never been seen before which has been a privilege to create and explore.”
Levy elaborated on the heart and spirit of the movie. “This Star Wars story is firmly rooted in character, brought to life by these amazing actors,” Levy said, “and all within an adventure that’s filled with humor, danger, spectacle and the joyous spirit that has been the beating heart of this 50 year legacy that we all love so much.”
An official plot description for the film was published on StarWars.com…. “In Starfighter, when a cynical rogue is confronted by his mysterious past, he is hurled into a dangerous adventure across the galaxy that puts him on a crash course with destiny.“
Levy and Gosling then presented a brief trailer for Star Wars: Starfighter, giving the lucky Honda Center attendees the world exclusive first look of the next theatrical adventure in a galaxy far, far away.
Keep reading for a detailed description of the footage shown from Star Wars: Starfighter….
The footage begins with young actor Flynn Gray facing the camera in what appears to be the interior of small holding bay for vehicles. He approaches a small starfighter with his hand out and, right as he is about to touch it, a voice warns him not to. “Didn’t I tell you not to touch anything?” the voice asks.
From the background, Ryan Gosling’s Kade Auberon emerges. After reprimanding the teenager, Kade tells him about the starfighter he is so impressed by. Kade notes that it is a recommissioned Imperial starship that is the fastest in the galaxy. “It’s a decommissioned G17,” Kade remarks. “The fastest starfighter ever built.” He sounds an awful lot like Han Solo the first time he described the Millennium Falcon to Luke Skywalker and Ben Kenobi in A New Hope.
The footage then edits between a number of quick images. A speeder bike is seeing traveling across land. Gosling’s character prepares to land a ship. A new water planet is depicted in which massive columns of water emerge from the ocean and up into the clouds.
Set roughly five years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the film sees Gosling co-star alongside Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Amy Adams, Aaron Pierre, and newcomer Flynn Gray.
Star Wars: Starfighter is in theaters May 28, 2027.
