Maybe this time, an All-Star can hit a ball into McCovey Cove.
For the second time in 21 years, the Giants will host an All-Star Game. Major League Baseball made it official Friday morning, announcing the 2028 All-Star Game — along with the regular side shows, including Home Run Derby — will be played at Oracle Park.
In July of 2028, San Francisco will serve as the hub of the baseball world. At least until the following week when the focus pivots to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, where MLB players are expected to participate in the Summer Games for the first time.
“The San Francisco Giants are incredibly honored to host the 2028 MLB All-Star Game at Oracle Park,” Giants CEO Larry Baer said. “We’re thrilled to welcome the baseball world to San Francisco and showcase our city, our organization, and our incredible fans. We’re grateful to Major League Baseball for this opportunity and look forward to creating an unforgettable All-Star experience for fans from San Francisco and around the world.”
