The Organic Seed Alliance, CR Shively Farm, Aquilli Metzli and Humboldt Permaculture Guild will be part of the 2026 California Field Day on Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the CR Shively Farm, 409 Shively Flat Road, Shively.
The event is free to attend with registration. This event is being held for farmers, seed growers, backyard gardeners and the agricultural community to learn about organic vegetable seed production, plant breeding projects, seed saving, local food and local/regional growing conditions. Food will be provided.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., volunteers will gather at Aquilli Metzli for a field workday to support its Milpa project. From noon to 5 p.m., there will be free snacks/drinks, local produce variety tasting, arts and crafts, educational resources and more. From 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., there will be a field tour at CR Shively Farm. From 2 to 3 p.m., a seed cleaning demonstration will be given by Levon Durr of Humboldt Permaculture Guild. From 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. there will be another tour of the CR Shively Farm.
