A search is underway Monday morning for a jet skier missing in Alamitos Bay after a woman was rescued, but a second person is still missing. 

According to the Long Beach Fire Department, firefighters, the Coast Guard and officers with the Long Beach Police Department responded to the report of missing jet skiers at around 10 p.m. Sunday. 

Officials say a good Samaritan who was out on a boat in the water heard a woman yelling for help at around 10:30 p.m. 

The fire department’s rescue boats went out and rescued the woman, reported to be in her 40s, who was then transported to the hospital in stable condition.

The Long Beach Fire Department continues searching for the missing jet skier with the help of Long Beach police and the Coast Guard.
