Person found shot near Sacramento County paint supply store, deputies say
SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
A person suffered at least one gunshot wound Monday morning near a paint supply store, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies got a call from fire department officials around 8:30 a.m. about what was originally believed to have been a vehicle collision along Fulton Avenue near Edison Avenue, the sheriff’s office said.
When they got there, deputies found the driver and had the driver sent to a hospital in unknown condition, the sheriff’s office said.
As the investigation continues, the sheriff’s office said it learned that the original call of a vehicle collision was unsubstantiated. The person who was shot was walking in the area, completely covered and wearing a ski mask.
The person would not give any information as to why they were there or give investigators any possible suspect description, the sheriff’s office said.
Several deputies are still by Jerry’s Paint & Supply Inc., with crime scene tape blocking off the parking lot.
