(FOX40.COM) — An investigation is underway after a person, believed to have been shot, was found by fire crews in north Sacramento Monday morning.
At around 8:30 a.m., the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded to a reported vehicle collision at the 3300 block of Fulton Ave.
Fire crews arrived and discovered that someone appeared to have been shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital, and their condition is unknown.
According to the sheriff’s office, the initial report of a collision was “unsubstantiated,” and no vehicles were involved in the shooting.
The victim, “completely covered and wearing a ski mask,” appeared to have been walking in the area of the incident for unknown reasons. They were shot on the east side of 3358 Fulton Ave., the sheriff’s office said.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is on scene investigating the shooting. The victim refused to provide investigators with information about a possible suspect.
