Authorities are investigating after a driver allegedly used an SUV to target and strike several people, including a juvenile, in a Victorville neighborhood over the weekend.
Deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Victorville Station responded to a report of an assault involving a vehicle at about 7:03 p.m. on Aug. 16, according to a news release from the department.
Investigators said the driver of a green Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling southbound on Fairbanks Drive at a high rate of speed while several adults and juveniles were playing basketball in the residential street.
As the SUV accelerated toward the group, people moved out of the roadway.
The driver continued past the group and struck an adult man before reversing and accelerating toward adults and juveniles standing in the driveway of a home in the 15000 block of Fairbanks Drive, authorities said.

A juvenile and an adult woman were struck.
Investigators said the driver then continued accelerating in reverse, striking another adult man and pinning him against a parked vehicle.
The SUV then accelerated forward and swerved toward people who were attempting to flee before leaving the area at a high rate of speed, according to authorities.

The victims were taken to a local hospital. Information about the extent of their injuries was not immediately available.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities said no suspect information was being released as detectives continue their investigation.
