A man stopped in the middle of a busy California freeway during rush hour after spotting a tiny baby possum stranded in the road. The animal was found on the eastbound 91 Freeway near Orange Hills in Orange, California, around 5:15 p.m. With traffic rushing past, Matthew Match Ray and another driver, Leah Bowler, stopped to help the vulnerable animal reach safety.Several other motorists also stopped along the freeway, helping create enough space for the pair to safely make their way across the road and rescue the possum. The tiny animal was eventually moved away from traffic and given the care it needed.Ray later thanked the drivers who stopped to help, writing that the little possum “needed some love and someone had to do it.”The heartwarming rescue was captured on camera by Ray.
