Fernando Tatis Jr. went platinum. Again.

For the second time in three years, the Padres’ right fielder was named the NL’s top defensive player on Friday.

Tatis won the second Gold Glove of his career on Sunday. A fan vote determined the Rawlings Platinum Gold Glove, although Tatis’ 16.3 SABR Defensive Index score ranking behind only Giants catcher Patrick Bailey (17.4) made him a worthy choice among the rest of the NL’s Gold Glovers.

Tatis also led all right fielders with 15 defensive runs saved, according to Sports Info Solutions, while he also robbed at least four home runs.

He also ranked 10th in the majors with a 6.1 fWAR, which had a lot to do with defense that has become arguably the most reliable part of his game.

Tatis won his first Gold and Platinum gloves in 2023, his first full year in right field.
