BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Officers with the Bakersfield Police Department were dispatched to a residence on on Monday after receiving reports of a stabbing.
When officers arrived at the residence on the 400 block of White Lane at 3:30 p.m., on Aug. 18, law enforcement found a male victim suffering from injuries related to stab wounds.
BPD said emergency personnel pronounced the adult male deceased at the scene.
The department said homicide detectives arrested 21-year-old Erionna Russell, who was later booked into the Kern County Jail for second-degree murder.
BPD said Russell and the victim were known to each other and that there are no outstanding suspects in the case.
Law enforcement said the identity of the deceased will be released by the Kern County Coroner’s Office and that the investigation is ongoing.
