KCSO: No dogs or people shot after deputy discharges firearm

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Sheriff’s Office confirmed a deputy discharged his firearm Tuesday morning.

KCSO said on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at around 9:50 a.m., deputies were called to a report of a found child near Teakwood and Olive drives in Oildale.

KCSO said a deputy discharged his firearm.

KCSO also confirmed that no dogs or individuals were shot. No injuries were reported.
