BSKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Bakersfield man was struck and killed in a crash in the Orange County area early Sunday morning.
The crash was reported in the Santa Ana area in the intersection of Warner Avenue and Yale Street around 4:53 a.m., according to officials with the Santa Ana Police Department.
Law enforcement and medical personnel responded to the scene and found a man, later identified as Esteban Ramos Renterian, in the road with “significant injuries.”
Renterian was transported to a hospital and was pronounced dead by medical personnel, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
Investigation showed Renterian was crossing southbound on Warner Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk and was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound.
The driver of the vehicle cooperated with the investigation and did not appear to be impaired.
