Kaiser Permanente has named Tracy Bertagnole senior vice president and area manager of its Fresno Service Area, overseeing hospital operations and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan operations across Fresno, Clovis, Selma and Oakhurst.
The service area serves more than 166,000 members.
Bertagnole, who has served in the role on an interim basis since February, joined Kaiser Permanente Fresno as chief operating officer in 2024. He has more than 15 years of leadership experience with nonprofit and for-profit health care organizations.
“As a Central Valley native, I am proud to take on this new role and continue serving the Fresno area alongside our team of exceptional health care professionals who provide high-quality, specialized care to the communities we serve,” Bertagnole said.
Before joining Kaiser Permanente, Bertagnole served as chief operating officer at Ogden Regional Medical Center in Utah and McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center in Oregon. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at Dignity Health Mercy Hospital Bakersfield, including performance improvement manager and director.
Kathy Bressler, senior vice president of Hospital and Health Plan Operations for Kaiser Permanente’s Northern California region, said Bertagnole’s leadership will support continued growth and expanded access to care in the Fresno area.
Bertagnole succeeds Tyler Hedden, who is now senior vice president and area manager for Kaiser Permanente’s Diablo Service Area.
