BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A Kern County leader helped create a new program aimed at shifting how communities approach homelessness and addition.
The best practices toolkit puts more emphasis on treatment, recovery and self-sufficiency for those experiencing homelessness.
Mission at Kern County Executive Director Carlos Baldovinos joined ARC Bakersfield to share what role he played in creating the toolkit and how it will help the community.
Baldovinos says the project focuses on the phases on long-tern recovery in those with addiction.
He says the toolkit will walk through the best practices for each phase and show communities how to provide support for those in need.
