BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The first major storm of the season is making its way through Kern County and Bakersfield. Several roads around Kern County are impacted by closures or warnings Tuesday during the storm.

Is the Grapevine open?
As of 9:30 a.m. northbound and southbound Interstate 5 is open. Rain continued to fall in the area, however. Multiple collisions have been reported south of Grapevine Road. Drivers are advised to slow down through the area.
Road closures
According to the Kern County Public Works website, Reed Road was closed from County Line Road to Cecil Avenue at 9 a.m. due to flooding.
Old River Road from Herring Road to Copus Road was closed at 8:45 a.m. due to a crash.
