One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning on Highway 41 south of Caruthers in Fresno County.
California Highway Patrol spokesperson Mike Salas said officers responded to the crash on northbound 41 near Elkhorn Avenue around 1:15 a.m.
Officers’ investigation suggests a Chevrolet Silverado was driving the wrong way when it hit a Ford F-150 that was traveling north, Salas said.
Both drivers were significantly injured and taken to a nearby hospital. The Silverado driver who was driving the wrong way died of his injuries, Salas said.
Officers suspect impairment as being a potential factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
